An excellent analyst, Sonia has nearly 30 years’ experience in communications, public relations and community mobilization. She has put her political acumen and facilitation skills to work for numerous organizations in both the public and private sectors. Throughout her various mandates in Quebec and abroad, she has developed tools to facilitate interaction and participation among various stakeholders.

Recognized for her listening and negotiating skills, she has an excellent understanding of the workings of public participation in municipal urban planning and sensitive environments. She has led several participative strategic planning processes, notably as part of the reconstruction of downtown Lac-Mégantic, where she was responsible for resident participation. She is also recognized for her expertise in developing public participation policies and practical reference frameworks for various Quebec cities.   Always on the lookout for the most innovative approaches on the subject, she also offers training in public participation to a variety of audiences.

Sonia has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Université du Québec à Montréal with a minor in political science and is also a certified professional coach.
